AI is already being widely adopted throughout the WordPress ecosystem. But in most cases, WordPress remains at the center, while AI serves as a tool to assist with creation and management.
That is beginning to change. We are now seeing websites where the conversation with AI is itself the creative environment—and where the AI platform also provides the publishing infrastructure. WordPress is no longer part of the process at all.
The iPhone Pro mini concept site below grew out of a conversation with ChatGPT. The imagery, copy, multilingual support, mobile optimization, deployment, and custom-domain setup were all handled through that dialogue. Even including the time spent refining the smallest details, the site was completed at a speed that would have been unimaginable using a conventional workflow.

Before we even discuss how WordPress and AI might coexist, this project has already demonstrated that there are cases where WordPress may no longer be part of the equation.
So, as someone who develops and sells WordPress plugins, am I undermining my own business by showcasing a website created with AI?
I do not believe so.
Websites with specialized functionality, large content-driven publications, membership platforms, e-commerce stores, and systems designed for continuous operation and long-term growth will continue to benefit from WordPress and human expertise.
On the other hand, landing pages and concept sites—where the message and purpose are clearly defined—have already entered an era in which AI alone may be enough. The boundary is becoming clear between projects that should integrate AI into WordPress and those that may not need WordPress in the first place.
That does not mean AI completes everything on its own. A person still needs to articulate what should be created, recognize what feels wrong, and continue making decisions throughout the process. The iPhone Pro mini concept site was also completed through repeated dialogue, evaluation, and refinement.
What matters is not loyalty to any particular technology.
It is choosing the right tool for the purpose.
The future is not a contest in which either WordPress or AI must disappear for the other to prevail. It is a future in which each is used where it works best—and that future has already begun.
