Description
This plugin automatically sends a separate email for each purchased product in WooCommerce, allowing files to be delivered directly as attachments.
In today’s digital marketplace, distribution via download links has become the norm. Yet if you want to choose the seemingly old-fashioned method of delivering files directly by email, you will find almost no options available. In that sense, a per-product delivery layer can be seen as a rediscovery—and reinvention—of a technique largely forgotten since the 20th century.
With download-based delivery, various issues can arise: customers may lose the URL, servers may go down, or the download period may expire, requiring manual reissuance.
Email delivery, by contrast, offers a powerful simplicity: purchase triggers dispatch, and delivery equals fulfillment.
With email:
A sending log remains on the seller’s side
A record remains in the customer’s inbox
Resending is easy when necessary
In other words, post-sale operations require no extra management—once sold, the process is effectively complete. Historically and practically, email remains the simplest delivery method.
Of course, this plugin cannot eliminate the possibility of email delivery failures. However, the same risk exists when sending download links by email. Mitigation should be handled at the server level, primarily by enabling proper mail authentication (SPF / DKIM / DMARC).
There is a significant difference between “receive immediately after payment” and “download immediately after payment.” While digital-native generations may see little distinction, older users may find the additional steps burdensome. Depending on your target audience, direct email delivery may be more appropriate than download links.
The order management screen includes logs and a resend button. Technically, this functionality could also be implemented on the My Account page, but this was intentionally omitted. Users who can navigate account pages comfortably are unlikely to struggle with downloads—making email delivery less necessary.
Development of this plugin began with a simple need: to send detailed instructions for purchased products. Customizing WooCommerce’s default automated emails proved too restrictive in layout, and inserting manuals into what are essentially receipts felt inappropriate. The solution was to send a separate supplementary email.
During development, it became clear that the email itself could serve as the primary content—not merely a supplement. In effect, the plugin functions as a lightweight transactional email engine. As a result, the original standalone admin interface was abandoned in favor of integration directly into the product editing screen.
There are no built-in limits on the number, type, or size of attachments that can be sent. However, considering the recipient’s environment, keeping each email under 10 MB in total is recommended.
